A Greener Pasadena

Driving around Pasadena you might notice the community gardens that are cropping up here and there. This weekend thanks to Little Green Fingers, Los Angeles Conservation Corps, and the LA Neighborhood Landtrust, a new garden will be built catering to families with children. Our own Pasadena Community Gardens Conservancy will be providing funds for free master gardener classes, cooking and nutrition programs and other healthy living and gardening activities for the new garden. Stories for American GIs in WWII
“In 1943, Alexander Woollcott, famed wit of The New Yorker Magazine, put together ‘As You Were’ for our troops in WWII”, says Lance Davis. “It’s a treasure of American writing, including excerpts of stories and poems that are funny, touching, and inspiring. Picture a 20 year old, far from home, sitting in a trench or hospital and being reminded of why he or she was there through the works of Twain, Parker, Longfellow and O. Henry.”

Get Electrocuted and Walk on Lightning at ArcAttack

Real Food Daily
An ArcAttack performance is a little bit like a rock concert and a lot like a science experiment on steroids. Who knew that electric currents and magnetism could be so awesome? A few lucky audience members will even get to come onstage to almost get electrocuted.
