2010, A Kidspace Odyssey: Out-of-this-World Fun for A Cause

Over 300 guests mingled with aliens and storm troopers at a successful fundraiser for Kidspace Children's Museum on February 6

It was an out-of-this-world evening at the Kidspace Circle of Friends benefit at the Parkway Grill on February 6. Entitled 2010 a Kidspace Odyssey: The Sky’s the Limit, over 300 guests were greeted by a squadron of Imperial Stormtroopers, along with R2D2, Princess Leia and other Starwars characters.

Guests were dressed in their best outerspace wear while pursuing the many silent auction goodies. Galactic blue drinks and delectable nibbles were enjoyed while laser lights and “moonbeams” danced around the room.

While dining, patrons were given the opportunity to bid on a variety of live auction items. The bidding was hot and heavy, with all proceeds going to benefit Kidspace Children’s Museum and its many programs.

The Circle of Friends is a group of women dedicated to supporting, with funds and volunteer hours, the operations of Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena. Their membership totals approximately 200 women and includes Active, Affiliate and Founders Circle members, those who have served the Circle of Friends for five or more years.

The Museum was founded by a group of women in 1979 as a service project for the Junior League of Pasadena and continues to be supported by professional women and stay-at-home moms with diverse backgrounds, but all drawn together toward a common goal of supporting the Museum. Fundraising objectives are largely met by two events: a Benefit in February and the Pumpkin Festival in October.
