The Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena held its annual meeting Wednesday, May 20 at the Annandale Golf Club.

Following a year-in-review video, Board Chair Nancy Spears gave an upbeat report on the group’s work, reporting to the assembled board members, partners and friends, that the Boys and Girls Club (BGCP) is operating on a 1.7 million budget this year, and serving more than 4,000 youth, ages 6 to 18, annually.
The club is open 248 days of the year and more than 69% of the children served are funded through scholarships, said Spears.

Much of the group’s operating budget is raised each year at the club’s annual Black Tie and Burgers event, which this year will be held Saturday, October 10.

The evening also featured a musical performance by BGCP Musical Director Hope Kikikuchi, and honored 2015 BGCP Youth of the Year Joshua Hing.

The Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena operates three facilities in Pasadena—its Slavik Branch, the Mackenzie-Scott Branch, and the McCabe Performing Arts Center, offering technology centers, teen centers, gymnasiums and swimming pools at both branch sites. The club serves children from Pasadena, Altadena, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, San Marino, Alhambra, San Gabriel, Temple City, Arcadia, El Monte, Rosemead, Azusa, Glendale, as well as Los Angeles.
