“Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane expressed his outrage at Fox News Saturday and decided to take action Tuesday by donating millions to public radio— Pasadena-based public radio station KPCC will receive $500,000, and NPR will pocket $2 million.

MacFarlane expressed his anger at Fox News as the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border escalated, saying he was is “embarrassed” to work for Fox. “Modern Family” creator Steve Levitan and director Judd Apatow also condemned Fox and made the call for other creatives not to work with Fox in the future.

Southern California Public Radio and KPCC are expected to use the money in support of local public radio news. Some of the money donated will go to NPR’s Collaborative Journalism Network, a special program founded by NPR in 2011 that helps empower journalists around the globe.
