Mexico Beats the U.S. in Rose Bowl Soccer Championship, 3-2

Before a crowd of 93,723 that was decidedly mostly cheering for Mexico, the United States national soccer team lost 3-2 to the Mexican national team in the Rose Bowl Saturday night in extra time.

The Yanks gave it al they had, but could not clear the scoring zone where Mexico did most of its damage. This is how the game ended, with the USA team unable to clear the ball and a half volley was blasted into the net for the game winner.

Attendance was orderly for the most part. The crowd came out early and was extremely loud. A minor melee broke out in the 34th minute.

For winning the CONCACAF championship cup, Mexico earned a spot the Russian Confederate Cup.
