The Pasadena Friendship Community Development Corporation (PFCDC) sponsored its Neighborhood Community Service Day (CSD), Saturday, May 21, 2016. The PFCDC is a Pasadena based public benefit nonprofit corporation whose mission is to provide affordable housing and services for seniors and families-at-risk.
Three (3) senior homeowners on West Hammond Street in Pasadena received free home repairs, trash hauling, broken windows replacement, landscaping and bright summer flowers as part of the day’s services.
Councilman Tryon Hampton, District 1 kicked off the Day’s activities. Volunteers included the City of Pasadena Youth Ambassadors, John Muir High School Pep Squad, Chandlers School Students and parents, and The Men of Valor from Friendship Pasadena Church.
Local businesses; ACE Hardware Altadena, Pasadena Nursery, Burkard Nurseries, Pasadena Interiors and Construction, and Greg the Printer all donated goods and services to make the day a success.
