The Law Offices of Donald P. Schweitzer Aims to Raise $20,000 for Foothill Unity Center’s Pediatric Mobile Dental Clinic

For the 3rd consecutive year, Don Schweitzer, Founder, Partner and Certified Family Law Specialist of the Law Offices of Donald P. Schweitzer, and his wife Maria Schweitzer, spearheaded a fundraiser to benefit Foothill Unity Center’s Pediatric Mobile Dental Clinic.

The Circle of Friends event was hosted on Saturday afternoon, June 27th at the Pasadena home of Annette and Sheldon Bull and raised more than $16,000. The Schweitzer’s are continuing their fundraising efforts and are looking to the support of friends, businesses and the community to help them reach a goal of $20,000. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit Foothill Unity Center’s annual Mobile Dental Clinic in November, where USC’s Mobile Dental Clinic provides more than 3,000 pediatric dental procedures to approximately 120 needy school-age children in the San Gabriel Valley.

“We’ve seen first hand how important it is for us to help Foothill raise funds to continue the Pediatric Mobile Dental Clinic,” Don Schweitzer said during his speech at the event. “To illustrate the need of this clinic, one year a child had to receive four root canals! These kids do not have preventative care. And to think that these children are trying to focus on school, building their self-esteem, better themselves as they grow—all while dealing with tooth pain, which often times leads to many other serious illnesses.”

“We are deeply grateful for the Schweitzer’s ongoing commitment to making sure our Mobile Dental Clinic continues,” said Foothill Unity Center Executive Director Betty McWilliams. “What Don and Maria have witnessed and shared is no exaggeration of the pediatric dental needs in our community. Foothill Unity Center’s 7th annual pediatric Mobile Dental Clinic provided by USC’s Ostrow School of Dentistry kicks off at the Center’s annual Back to School Event for low-income, pre-registered families on August 11, 2015 at the Santa Anita Racetrack. Pre-registered San Gabriel Valley school-aged children have the option to receive a free dental screening at the event. Children prescreened at the Back to School Event event will receive additional pediatric dental procedures during the Mobile Dental Clinic week held at Beardslee Elementary School in Duarte on November 6.
