Academic Decathlon Team Makes Holy Family School History

On Saturday, January 11, the Academic Decathlon team defeated 22 other teams to take first place at the Cathedral High School Quiz Bowl – a first for HFS! Quiz Bowl is the warm up event for the Los Angeles Archdiocese Academic Decathlon that takes place at the LA Sports Arena on March 1. More than 100 teams will compete. The competition consists of two team events, Logic and Super Quiz, and eight individual exams (math, grammar, history, science, current events, literature, fine arts and religion).

In addition to the overall team win at Quiz Bowl, our individual test takers also did very well. Holy Family earned 1st place in math, 2nd place in fine arts, 3rd in current events, and 4th in religion, grammar and science.
