Amazing Week for Flintridge Sacred Heart Tolog Athletics

Flintridge Sacred Heart’s cross country and tennis teams performed in top form last week, by winning titles and proceeding to CIF playoffs.

Cross Country

Last Wednesday, Senior Kayla Grahn won the varsity Mission League championship, FSHA’s first league title since 2007. Grahn was also named varsity most valuable runner of the year. The varsity team finished third and qualified for the CIF Southern Section Division IV preliminaries starting Nov. 15. Emily Beeve won the junior varsity championship and was named JV most valuable runner of the year. The JV team placed second.

Tennis

FSHA, which won the Sunshine League championship, beat St. Lucy’s during the first CIF Southern Section division IV playoff match on Wednesday, Nov 5.

Continuing the momentum, doubles team, Holly MacVaugh and Margaux Blain, captured the Sunshine League doubles title on Thursday, Nov. 6. They will proceed to CIF Southern Section Individual Tournament, starting Nov. 24.
