Assumption School: The 8th Annual Gator Jog-a-thon

The 8th Annual Gator Jog-a-thon is a fun filled fundraising activity. Beginning 10:00 a.m. students will run, jog, or walk for approximately 45 minutes. Assumption School is counting down to the Jog-a-thon and prompts everyone of last-minute reminders to ensure that each one is prepared for the jog-a-thon, this Thursday, October 16:

• Wear t-shirts in the color assigned to each class, comfortable athletic shorts or pants, athletic shoes, and sunscreen. (If a student ordered a jog-a-thon t-shirt, they will be coming home this week.)

• Plenty of water will be handed out on the course. For those who would like to bring their own reusable container, they may do so but will have to carry it.

• Bring completed sponsor form to school and turn it in to your teacher on Thursday morning. Please don’t turn in money on Thursday, just the form. Sponsor forms were sent home, but they can also be downloaded from the website, under “Jog-a-thon”.

• Run, jog, or walk, and have fun! 8th Graders, remember to be in top form, because they’ll be on the lookout for this year’s Gator Spirit Awardee!

• What’s next? When a sponsor form is returned to any student in next week’s student folder, a student will notice that one of the volunteers has written the total number of laps each one has completed in the top right hand corner. This will assist them in collecting on the pledges.

The school reminds everyone that 100% of the sponsorship money each one will bring in goes toward the annual fundraising goal. The awesome fundraising prizes are:

• 1st: itouch Nano with Beats earbuds
• 2nd: Nike GPS powered sportwatch
• 3rd: Ripstik Ripster & Helmet
• Plus, each student that raises $250 or more will be entered into a drawing to win an iPad
