The Bobcat team, coached by Yvette Hardin, includes left to right (back row) Anita Bilanjian, Brenna Derbish, Juliette Martin, Keara Keelty, Jessica Lee, Julie Le and Coach Yvette Hardin. Winning the East Championship of the Foothill League qualified the Barnhart girls’ varsity basketball team to play in Thursday night’s championship game played at Glendale Adventist Academy. Barnhart Bobcats finished in second place to Glendale Adventists Cougars, with a final score of 17-14. The Bobcats took the lead for the first three quarters and the Cougars came from behind for the win.

“Our girls played with such heart and passion, going after every ball with grit and tenacity! In the final seconds of the game the tying three-pointer rattled in and then out while we all held our breath! Tonight’s result is a testament to the impact of our daily P.E. program and I’m so proud of our girls and their coach who has taught them the true fundamentals of the game,” said Ethan Williamson, Head of School for Barnhart.

Distinguishing programs of Barnhart include Spanish at all grade levels, daily physical education, the Virtues Project™ character development program, the creative writing for kids program with the Lucy Calkins’ Writer’s Workshop, a choral group, and an on-site harvest garden.
