The Tournament of Roses again held a vase design and decorating contest this year for Pasadena Unified 4th-8th graders, and 1st place went to Blair’s own Lily Small!

A winning drawing was first chosen from each school, and as Blair’s winner, Lily then created and decorated a vase sculpture based on her design. The vases from each of Pasadena Unified schools were judged and the results announced at a special event held at Paseo Colorado on Nov. 16. This year’s Rose Court was on hand to recognize the winner and runner ups, and the vase sculptures are now on display at Paseo Coloroda till January (Upper level fountain court).

Congratulations to Lily! Thanks also to Blair art teacher Ms. Vilma Martinez for her help. As the winning school, Blair’s art department will receive $500 from the Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF)!!
