Carver Elementary School: PTA Family Life Presentation for Fifth Graders

On Thursday, January 17, 2013, the 5th grade students will have the opportunity during school hours to attend a Family Life Presentation focusing on male and female maturation. The girls’ presentation will also include information about menstruation. The boys and girls will attend separate programs including a video presentation and a question-answer period, facilitated by a female physician, Dr. Ruby Kalra, for the girls, and Don Duranso, SMUSD school psychologist, and Dr. Gary McGuigan, our Asst. Supt. for Curriculum and Instruction, for the boys.

The videos will be available for parents to preview on the following date:

At Carver’s Scrim Auditorium on Thursday, Jan. 10th
8:35am – 9:00am, Boys DVD
9:15am – 9:45am, Girls DVD

A student permission slip will be needed for attendance at the Family Life Presentations on January 17th. A permission slip will be sent home with your child in January.
