Over the summer, students have a special opportunity to discover who they are and who they can become. Summer programs are ideal launching pads for this type of self-discovery, and experts agree that summer programs should always coordinate with students’ own interests. Clairbourn knows what parents are looking for in a summer program, and our mix-and-match class offerings, ranging from the academic and technical to the creative and athletic, are perfect for discovering and developing the interests of children. The key element is variety which children require in order to expand their minds, learn by doing, build confidence, and retain school-year learning.
In the Preschool and Kindergarten Advantage Programs, students enjoy a half-day or full-day experience filled with age-appropriate math, literacy, science, and social studies activities as well as arts & crafts, music, and story time. They also develop self-reliance and socialization skills through indoor and outdoor games, free-play, and water-play activities. This program is perfect for families looking to create positive early school experiences, build confidence, and stimulate a love of learning in their children.
The Summer Advantage Program for older students in first through eighth grades (attend anytime from 9a.m. to 3p.m.) offers even more variety and allows students to design their own learning adventure from over 45 academic, developmental, and creative workshops. For parents with students needing an academic advantage, there are math, reading, writing, science, and test-prep classes designed to prepare them for fall classes. For those looking to explore their creative side, there are art classes for clay, drawing, fashion design, cooking, mosaics, comic book creation, jewelry making, and more. For technical development, there are classes in electronic circuitry, robotics, computers, aerospace, and virtual 3-D design. And finally, to build athleticism, there are Summer Pass-Ball and Superstar Baseball offerings, or students can sign up for recreational swimming/water games and a variety of sports activities in the air-conditioned gymnasium. All classes are taught by teaching professionals with a love for their subject.
Summer Advantage students look forward to the fun and adventure of making new friends and taking classes designed to excite their interests. Parents love the safe, supportive environment, small class sizes with personalized attention from our expert faculty, and the reasonable prices of the program.
