Crestview’s 6th Graders and Their Brand New Lego Robotics Program

Crestview’s 6th graders are in the the middle of their brand new Lego Robotics program. The first stage began with pairing up and organizing their lego kits. After a small mis-hap with thousands of lego pieces spilling to the floor, we recovered and began construction. The first robot project resembled a small car.

Once the construction was finished, students were to program a very simple task of getting from point A to point B, and back. Once the group accomplished this task, it was on to the maze. The students will have to program their robots to get through the maze of hockey sticks built by Mr. DeClerk. To accomplish this goal, students will learn programming, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. The students are very excited! We are looking forward to the many other projects to come.
