Eliot Arts Magnet Partners with Inner-City Arts
Eliot Arts Magnet teaching faculty, classroom support staff, and administrators recently participated in an extraordinary professional development day led by Inner City Arts, one of the foremost arts and arts-integration education providers in the United States.
Two main areas of focus for the day were creating classroom environments conducive to creative-problem solving and critical thinking skills through the arts, and making relevant academic content connections to the arts. This highly specialized day of professional development was designed to support teachers as they create arts-integrated learning experiences for Eliot students, in service of the arts magnet’s mission and vision.
The overwhelming response from teachers was that it was extremely joyful as well as highly useful for their classroom practice. Eliot is looking forward to more work with Inner City Arts and to implementing these great tools in their classrooms.
