Eliot Sweeps the Robo-Rally

On Tuesday, May 20th, the Eliot Robotics team traveled to Pasadena High School to compete in PUSD’s Middle School Robo-Rally, sponsored by Pasadena Educational Foundation. The contest consisted of students programming their robots to follow a piece of tape while carrying a puck. There were eight teams of three students per each heat.

Amazingly, Eliot swept the contest, winning all places first through fifth. Our first place team consisted of Brandon Lopez, Jaime Rodriguez, and Pedro Gomez. The second place team was Molly Schwartz, Ricardo Harris and Joshua Rubio. The third place was won by Miguel Navarro, David Solis, and Shamir Sanders. Jade Trujillo and Miranda Hernandez took fourth place. Fifth place was secured by Jesenia Garcia, Alaysia Barker-Vaughn, and Samantha Aguilar.

Participant Miguel Navarro said that the coolest thing about the competition was competing in the actual race, because people were very excited while cheering for their robots. Miguel also liked the fact that Eliot won it all.
