The top 34,000 students are notified that they have been named Commended students in September. Among that group are 33 members of the Flintridge Prep Class of 2013: Bella Arabejo, Jack Bouchard, Grace Broyles, Robby Carroll, Haley Carter, Tim Drake, Maya Dunn, Jenna Galper, Jennifer Gee, Callan Gies, CJ Harris, Josh Haug, Joyce Hu, Ashley Kim, Young-In Kim, Kaelin King, Albert Lee, Lydia Linna, Annie Lowery, Ian Moon, Joe Morgan, Leanne Norden, Bruce Park, Manny Perez, Chelsea Rapoport, Austin Roy, Natalie Rose Schwartz, Keina Sumiyasu, Kinsey Thompson, Marisa Wang, Allison Yang, Codi Young, and Gabby Zen.

Semifinalists are comprised of the top one-third (or 16,000 students) of the 50,000 students recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program. The top 15,000 are named Finalists. Flintridge Prep’s eight finalists will compete for 8,300 scholarships, which are awarded throughout the spring.
