Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy Honors Scientific Research Students Awarded $3,350 by the Archer Fellowship Fund

Flintridge Sacred Academy (FSHA) students in Honors Scientific Research (aka “Scisearch”) have been awarded $3,350 in fellowship funding from the Archer Fellowship Fund, which is a STEM initiative sponsored by the Archer School for Girls on the west side. Approximately $15,000 was available through the merit-based application process, and all of our girls who submitted proposals received funding.

Congratulations to Alyssa Carter, Laura DiPietro, Danielle Fradet, Kelly Fradet, Lacie Fradet and Yaqi Zhang!

The awards will support their various research projects underway this semester, which span current topics in environmental science, microbiology, anti-cancer therapy, HIV awareness, diabetes and the development of novel antibiotics.

The funding comes as a great support to the program in its first year and allows the class to pursue individual ideas at a sophisticated level through research-grade equipment and model systems for academic study.
