Grandparents and Special Friends Visit Maranatha High School

Last week close to 300 grandparents and special friends visited Maranatha High School for breakfast, a student-filled program, and campus tours. This annual tradition brings the Maranatha community together to honor the critical role grandparents and special friends play in students’ lives. After breakfast, guests enjoyed performances by the Mixed Ensemble and Orchestra and heard from student Stacy Rasmussen ’16 as well as Headmaster Dr. Gyertson and Principal Dr. Purghart.

The most treasured time of the morning is always when students meet their guests for an extended break. Locked arm in arm with their students, these grandparent and special friends walked around the campus and enjoyed meeting with students’ teachers and friends. In almost every classroom you could find grandparents gushing over students’ work and asking teachers all kinds of questions. Many grandparents commented on the beautiful campus and splendid time with their grandchildren.
