Help Blair Students Travel the World

Blair Spanish teacher Dana Poskitt is not only enthusiastic about teaching in a classroom but also possesses a great passion when it comes to travel, especially for her students. Having led multiple teams abroad to places such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain and China, she has observed the dramatic growth that takes place in her participants. Students return from their travels with a deeper appreciation of who they are and the comforts available to them. They grow in empathy, humility, self-assurance and motivation. To put it simply, they become even better people then they were prior to departure.

This type of education simply cannot take place within four walls. It requires hands-on experience and unfortunately, most students and their families are prevented from contemplating such a grand experience due to its price tag. So, Señora Poskitt has committed to raising funds that will provide 28 scholarships this year. Twelve students and two teachers will travel to Europe during the summer of 2016, while another twelve students and two teachers travel to China over the 2016 Spring break.
