Honoring the Student Athlete



The All Academic Game (AAG) will host its inaugural All-Academic Game this Sunday, May 4, at Cathedral High School in Los Angeles at 2:30 p.m. The 24 selected student athletes will be coached by Alemany High School coach Tray Meeks and Cantwell Sacred Hart coach George Zedan.

The game consists of 24 student athletes who are academically eligible to play collegiate basketball as soon as they graduate. They all have or will clear the NCAA Clearinghouse process.

AAG’s emphasis is on the individuality of the complete student; both at home, at school and in the life skills necessary to navigate the world outside of both environments.

The All-Academic Game gives higher academic student-athletes a showcase to celebrate their academic and athletic commitment. The players student-athletes that attend some of the most prestigious and academically demanding high schools and academies in the country, and still manage to balance both academics and athletes. The game also allows unsigned selections to be showcased and recruited to higher education institutions.

The voting process for the All-Academic All-Star Game involves a voting and selection process by the All-Academic All-Star Game Selection Committee. The Selection Committee is comprised of some of the city’s most knowledgeable high school basketball minds. There are 10 members on the All-Academic All-Star Game Selection Committee. These members come from all areas in basketball.

The event itself will consist of a player meet and greet brunch, media time, a speaker series, as well as practice time with their team and the game. The player involved in the game have an average GPA of 3.43, and the highest GPA participant is Nicolas Hamilton of Westchester High School, with a 4.0 unweighted/4.2 weighted GPA.

The highest ACT score participants are Nicolas Hamilton of Westchester and Marcus Forbes of Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs, California. The highest SAT score participant is Jacob Feder of Mira Costa HS with a 2050. Multiple players in the game have already signed with top colleges.
