Immaculate School Honors 109 Scholar Athletes
Immaculate High School’s annual Scholar Athlete Luncheon this week honored 109 students who participate in school sports and also maintain a 3.5 grade point average or higher.
Nearly 40 percent of all students play team sports at Immaculate School. Of the 184 Immaculate School students who are members of at least one school team this year, nearly 60 percent have achieved the designated status as scholar athletes.
“Congratulations on managing your studies and your sports,” Immaculate School President Maureen Diekmann told the student athletes during the April 20th luncheon, which was also attended by their parents.
Ms. Diekmann also thanked the families for their support, and she expressed gratitude for the efforts by all team coaches as well as IH Athletic Director Maureen Rodriguez and members of the Girls’ Athletic Association who organized the event.
Singled out for special recognition and presented with commemorative plaques were the top scholar athletes in each high school class. They were freshmen Kelly Kim, Isabeela Valenzuela and Sydney Cahill; sophomores Mia Speier, Aurora Parks and Cristina Gonzales; juniors Oona Holahan, Ashley Conde and Katie Hughes; and seniors Anora Denison and Maddie Gannon.
