Judson International School Transitional Kindergarten

In the Fall of 2013 Judson International School will be adding a new grade level: Transitional Kindergarten (TK). The TK program is the first year of a two year program to prepare students for success academically, socially and spiritually. TK will offer children a developmentally appropriate curriculum to successfully prepare them for the transition to Kindergarten. TK is NOT an additional year of preschool; rather it is an opportunity for the student to blend the best practices from the preschool learning environment in order to bridge successfully to kindergarten.

At Judson School, we will focus on the development of the whole student. TK students will benefit from an academic curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate, interwoven with Judson’s Christian philosophy. The program is half day and will align with Judson’s school-year calendar. Each family will be required to complete the admissions process, which includes meeting with the Principal to assess their child’s readiness for the Transitional Kindergarten program. Children accepted into the TK program will not need to reapply for Kindergarten the following year. The student/teacher ratio is 12:1.

Judson’s dual emphasis on Christian and International education creates a unique perspective which prepares students well for the 21st century world in which they live. The curriculum focuses the students’ eyes and minds on the entire world throughout all of history, and integrates individual subjects into a unified whole to enhance learning.
