Maranatha Celebrates Their Grandparents and Special Friends

On a picturesque April morning, Maranatha High School hosted over 220 very special guests on campus for their annual Grandparents’ & Special Friends’ Day. The Student Center was dressed up and ready to greet the distinguished crowd with vibrant floral arrangements, smiling student ambassadors and volunteers, and a delicious breakfast buffet.

The program, emceed by grandparent Mrs. Diane Bowden—a longtime Maranatha native—featured performances by the school’s Orchestra and Mixed Ensemble. Special speakers included international student, Odera Nwobi ‘16, Principal John Rouse, and Board of Trustees member, Michele VanRiper. As always, the highlight of the morning was the time after the program that grandparents and friends got to spend with their students. The students took them on a tour of campus to share what life at Maranatha looks like.

Event Coordinator Michelle Karim ’07 remarked, “The Maranatha community is continually thankful for the blessing of grandparents and special friends in the lives of our students.”
