Maranatha Girls’ Basketball Travels to Hawaii

Maranatha High School’s Lady Minutemen had the opportunity to play in the World Youth Basketball Tournament held in Hawaii from December 26 through January 1. The Lady Minutemen were able to bring home the first place trophy with a 3-1 winning record. Victoria Chang, Kei Lani Ando, and Channon Fluker led the way averaging 10 or more points in all four games and Channon Fluker averaging 16 rebounds per game.

The Lady Minutemen followed up their tournament success with another win back home in Pasadena against Westridge on January 3rd. Jet lagged and all, the Lady Minutemen swept the court with a score of 48 to 30. Channon Fluker had 10 points and 14 boards, Hope Peron had 12 points and 5 assists, and Noelle Oki and Kei Lani Ando knocked down 10 points each.

The team is now currently ranked #6 in the CIF coaches’ poll.
