Maranatha congratulates their Girls’ Tennis Team who went undefeated in league play and won the Olympic League for the second consecutive year, going 12-7 overall. Congratulations to Coach Arthur Hsieh and his assistant coach, wife Sandra Hsieh.

Coach Arthur Hsieh was also named All-Area Coach of the Year for the Girls’ season this fall after being named All-Area Coach of the Year for the Boys’ season last spring.

In Arthur’s three seasons as Head Coach he has also led Maranatha to three Olympic League Championships and the boys made the CIF Semifinals last year where they lost to the next round’s CIF Champion, Santa Fe.

“Coach Hsieh is a great example of the many positive things that our coaches and teachers are doing to inspire our young people to live lives of purpose and distinction that honor Christ,” said Brian DeHaan, Athletic Director.  He continued, “Arthur is first and foremost a man of God who offers his coaching as an act of service for Christ.  He has the unique ability to inspire young people to peak performance while challenging them to grow in their personal and spiritual life on a daily basis.  During the Girls’ season he and his wife, Sandra, combine to create a nurturing environment that requires excellence in effort and attitude. The same environment is created during the Boys’ season, but Arthur strategically surrounds the boys with male coaches who can impact their growth. Maranatha is blessed to have a coach of Arthur’s caliber. Arthur speaks truth into our young tennis players’ lives while winning some matches along the way.”

One former athlete describes the impact Coach Hsieh makes on those he works with in his words of thanks to Coach Hsieh, “Thank you so much for loving me enough to not only teach me tennis, but also the path to being the best that I can be through God.”
