Marshall Fundamental Middle School Girls Visit Eaton Aerospace Company

Twenty Two Marshall Fundamental Middle School girls had the opportunity to visit Eaton Aerospace Company to learn about aerospace engineering in honor of Introduce Girls to Engineering. The girls started the morning with an introduction to engineering and a panel discussion with two female engineers, one of whom has been in the field for nearly 30 years.

Later, the girls participated in a STEM activity to use a stratapult to launch a ball as far as possible. They used the engineering design process, problem evaluation, revision, and teamwork to be successful.

Finally, the day ended with a tour of the facility to see where the airplane and helicopter parts are made. It was an amazing experience and a unique chance for girls to be introduced to engineering by a local company that has a global footprint. Information provided by Ms. Rebecca Caruso, NBCT
