New Horizon School’s Jad Soucar Wins First Place in Biology at 2015 California State Science Fair

New Horizon School (NHS) is pleased to announce that their very own Jad Soucar won First Place at the California State Science Fair in the category of Product Biology! The 2015 California State Science Fair was held on May 18-19 within the California Science Center located in Exposition Park in Los Angeles.

Students from private and public schools throughout California represented their schools, and NHS is very proud of Jad for his accomplishments and for representing New Horizon with such excellence in science. His project, “It’s More Than a Weed; It’s Sunscreen,” studied various types of sunscreen and found the natural properties of dandelions to be the most effective in protecting the skin from harmful UV rays.

Congratulations, Jad, for the achievement! New Horizon School also commend Mrs. Kavitha Satya, NHS middle school science teacher, for her support as well as Jad’s dedicated parents.
