Pacific Oaks College, First Annual Early Childhood Leadership Institute

On Friday, October 10, 2014 Pacific Oaks College will host its first Early Childhood Leadership Institute in Pasadena with about 120 participants from early learning schools and centers as well as guests from the LA County Office of Childcare, City of Pasadena, LA Valley College, Pacific Clinics, LA Universal Preschool, and Santa Monica College.

In spring of 2014 Pacific Oaks College launched the Institute for Community Outreach, Research, and Education (CORE) to provide training and development opportunities to alumni, unified school systems, and early childhood centers. Jayanti Tambe, Professor at Pacific Oaks’ School of Education, serves as the director of the Institute. Beginning on Friday, participants will be immersed in a three day interactive exploration of what it means to lead in a climate of change. The institute will open with a keynote dinner featuring Holly Elissa Bruno, best-selling author, radio host, and international speaker. The Los Angeles County Office of Childcare has sent a large number of directors and administrators of licensed child care programs participating in the Race to the Top initiative. This institute will be the first of many that Pacific Oaks and CORE will host to meet the educational needs of the community.
