Polytechnic School: Seattle Seahawks’ Coach Carroll Visits Poly Football Practice

Pete Carroll, the head coach of the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks (and previous head coach at USC), came to pay a visit to Poly’s football practice last night. Coach Carroll demonstrated his trademark high energy and enthusiasm as he shared with the boys how much he enjoyed this time of year, and the memories it evokes. He also had good advice to impart, and emphasized how important hard work is for a successful season. When asked how different coaching at the college and pro levels is (he has 17 years experience coaching NFL and 19 years collegiate experience), he remarked that at a basic level, it isn’t all that different. Professional players may make things look better, but the crucial hard work is the same at all levels.

He appealed to the team to work hard, and to give everything they have to their practices. He promised that he would keep his eye on the team in the upcoming season. Coach Carroll was given a gift of Poly wear for himself and his family, so he won’t forget the Panthers any time soon!
