Polytechnic School: Cross Country and Tennis Advance to Postseason

The Prep League cross country finals ended as a day to be remembered. Evan Gancedo finished in first place and won her second consecutive league championship. Not only did she help the girls team to a berth in the CIF Prelims, but she also broke the Prep League Finals’ course record in the process. The boys team turned in a great performance led by Michael Caughron, who finished second with the sixth fastest time in Prep League history. The boys were seeded fourth entering the finals and finished second overall. They too will be heading to the CIF Prelims at Mount San Antonio College on Nov. 10.

Varsity girls tennis will be playing in the wild card round of the CIF Division 2 Playoffs on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Caltech against West Ranch High School. The matches will start at 3 p.m., with the winner advancing to a first round match at El Dorado on Oct. 31.
