Polytechnic School: Sweeney Todd Opens Today

The Upper School’s Performing Arts Department is pleased to present this year’s spring musical, Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, today, April 27 to April 29 and May 3-5. Cast information, ticket information, and ticket order form are available here.

Please note that as much as the school loves including Lower and Middle School students in this annual tradition, the story line for this show is probably inappropriate for some younger students. Although most of the “blood and gore” has been removed from this production, there’s no getting around the fact that the story involves Sweeney Todd killing his clients and turning them over to his accomplice to be baked into meat pies! Some youngsters may not be able to separate fantasy from reality enough to truly enjoy the show. Polytechnic leaves the decision to the attendees.
