PUSD Participates in Nationwide Lights On After School Festivities



Pasadena LEARNs, the Pasadena Unified School District’s (PUSD) afterschool program, will join more than one million Americans in the Lights On After School celebration Thursday, October 18, 2012, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Blair High School Gymnasium, 1201 S. Marengo Ave., Pasadena.

PasadenaLEARNs joins the Partnership for Children, Youth and Families and other local after school programs to demonstrate how after school programs keep kids safe, help working families and inspire learning in the hours between the end of the school and work days. PasadenaLEARNs serves more than 3000 students at 22 sites in PUSD.

The event involving over 600 PUSD students will include performances, prizes and family fun.

The national Afterschool Alliance organizes Lights On After School rallies in more than 7,500 communities to build awareness about the programs offered before and after school. For more information on the Afterschool Alliance and Lights On After School, please visit www.afterschoolalliance.org.
