Ramona Convent Secondary School Congratulates Carolina Barbosa’s Girl Scout Award

Carolina Barbosa

Ramona Convent Secondary School congratulates to Carolina Barbosa who received her Girl Scout Gold Award in a ceremony at the Pasadena Convention Center last Saturday.  645 young women from the greater Los Angeles area were recognized for projects dealing with community and economic development, education and youth development, healthy living and health services, and science and the environment.  For her project, Carolina took on the challenge of starting a teen program at St. Linus Church to aid the religious education teachers as well as to help the teens themselves.  She recruited a group of teens, taught them leadership and collaboration skills, and thus ensured that the program will keep running.  Only about 6% of the young women involved in Girl Scouts achieve this prestigious award.
