Tickets On Sale Now for Blair High School’s Ovations Performances “Ovations 2016…This Is Us!”

This year, Blair High School students take to the stage in Broadway roles that tell stories mirroring their own real-life adolescent angst. “Ovations 2016…This Is Us!” features song, dance and dialogue from “Matilda,” “13,” “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” and “In the Heights.”

These contemporary Broadway musicals include hip hop and pop music with modern style dance, and with these storylines about young people, Blair students get to play characters of their own age.

The shows will take place Thu. April 28, Fri. April 29 and Sat. April 30; all shows are at 8:00 pm. Ovations 2016 returns to our very own Blair amphitheatre, complete with food available for purchase before the show catered by the Culinary Arts Academy.

Tickets are $10 each, available for pre-purchase from any of the cast members or at the shows. Tickets are good for any one of the three performances. Tickets are also available for purchase online.

Blair choir instructor Ms. Amanda Engstrom is producer and musical director of Ovations, assisted by theatre professionals Ms. Kellen Law as director and Ms. Kelsey O’Keeffe as choreographer. Ms. O’Keeffe also performed in Ovations while a student at Blair!
Ovations students are inspired to reach high standards, assisted with professional sound, lighting and music. Come see our amphitheatre transformed! The cast includes Blair students from 6th grade all the way to 12th grade.

Ovations receives funding from the Blair LEARNs after school program, a Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts grant and others, but needs additional support. Encourage performing arts in our public schools by being in the audience! These nights of musical theatre under the stars are the best entertainment deal in town.
