Chef Claud Beltran Hosted Annual Rose Soiree Tasting Event Benefiting Professional Child Development Associates

Professional Child Development Associates (PCDA) held its fourth annual Rosé Soirée event on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the home of Chelisa and Jim Vagim. Proceeds from the event benefit children with autism or other developmental disabilities who receive therapies and services at PCDA.

Event organizer, Chef Claud Beltran, is a long-time supporter of PCDA, and a believer that local chefs should give back. “PCDA makes a huge difference in our community for so many families who have a child with special needs, including my customers and friends, and I am proud to support their work.” In addition to Beltran’s restaurants – Bacchus’ Kitchen and Constance Perry’s, named for the jazz-era socialite who built the original Hotel Constance – other participating restaurants included Altadena’s AltaEats, Pasadena’s Malbec Argentinian Cuisine, and Eagle Rock’s Little Beast. Beltran explains, “All the restaurants that were chosen are chef-driven, so the inventiveness, quality and attention to detail are on the highest level.”

Wine was again provided by Vendome Wine & Spirits. Refreshing rosés are considered a quintessential summer wine, and Rosé Soirée is a fun opportunity to learn more about the many varieties there were to enjoy; knowledgeable staff from Vendome and the various restaurants were pouring. Wine was available for sale as well, and a portion of all wine sales were donated back to PCDA.

PCDA helps families in the greater Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley community by providing therapies and programs for children with developmental disabilities using a play-based approach. Last year, PCDA clinicians helped over 1,100 children, teens and young adults to engage in joyful interactions and warm relationships and increase their capacity for communication, problem-solving, creativity and reflective thinking, now and as they grow older.
