Dog Haus, the celebrated national gourmet hot dog, sausage and burger concept chain founded here in Old Pasadena, is celebrating America’s most iconic food by gifting everyone a free Haus Dog on Wednesday, July 18, National Hot Dog Day.

Guest visiting any Dog Haus franchise can enjoy a free hot dog by downloading the Dog Haus Rewards App and registering to access the offer.

The Dog Haus app offers customers “the best ordering, loyalty and time-saving mobile payment experience,” according to the company website. By using the app, customers can get Dog Haus orders “how you want it, when you want it.” After completing an order through the app from anywhere, customers can head to the nearest Dog Haus and pick up the order, allowing them to get through the line quickly and securely by scanning their mobile phone at the register.

The app also offers rewards for frequent customers. To download the app, visit the Dog Haus website, www.doghaus.com.

Dog Haus first opened in Pasadena in 2010 and has since grown to over 30 locations in nine states, with about 20 more sites in development. The founders, Hagop Giragossian, Quasim Riaz and André Vener, shared a passion for good food, creativity, quality and commitment to community, and made the decision to franchise the concept in 2013, which quickly precipitated a dramatic period of growth for the brand.

Dog Haus’ culinary team includes Giragossian, who oversees menu operations, and Würstmacher (sausage-maker) Adam Gertler. The brand uses its signature all-beef skinless Haus Dogs and hand-crafted sausages with no added nitrates, 100 percent Black Angus beef burgers, and a fried chicken sandwich.

All dogs, sausages, burgers and the fried chicken sandwich are served on grilled King’s Hawaiian rolls, and guests can choose from signature Haus creations or customize their own from a wide array of unique toppings.

Guests can also select great craft beers from a tap list featuring local favorites, and choose premium shakes or soft-serve ice cream for dessert.

As part of its community advocacy, Dog Haus has partnered with the No Kid Hungry network, which connects kids to effective nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals. No Kid Hungry is made up of private citizens, government officials, business leaders, and others providing innovative hunger solutions in their communities.

Through its Cooking Matters program, the No Kid Hungry campaign also educates and empowers low-income families to stretch their food budgets so their kids get healthy meals at home.
