Along with the rapidly changing situation on the COVID-19 virus, Pasadena Now continues to report local election updates.
The LA County Registrar updated election results on Friday.
Vote counts barely moved in the local races.
Victor Gordo picked up an additional 112 votes and increased his lead over incumbent Mayor Terry Tornek with 46.57 percent of the vote (18,512 votes). Tornek picked up 97 votes and trails by almost exactly five percent at 41.54 percent (16,516). Major Williams and Jason Hardin trail far behind with 8.42 and 3.47 percent of the vote respectively. Gordo and Tornek will meet in a runoff election in November since neither received more than 50 percent of the vote.
The results are scheduled to be updated on Tuesday, but it is unknown if the office will be closed due to the “Safer at Home” orders. The next update most likely will be the final update. There are only 20,100 votes left from across the county to count.
That includes 10,500 conditional voter registration ballots. 5,000 provisional ballots, 3,600 mail in ballots and 1,000 miscellaneous ballots.
In City Council races, Felicia Williams increased her lead over Tricia Keane. Williams now has 52.94 percent of the vote (2,901). Williams picked up eight votes.
Keane has 27.14 percent of the vote (1,487), for a gain of seven votes.
Bo Patatian and Kevin Litwin have 12.03 percent and 7.90 percent of the vote.
Incumbents Steve Madison and Gene Masuda continue to lead by significant margins.
In total, it has taken the county nearly three weeks to count the ballots from the election.
