[UPDATED at 1:27] The city’s health department has now confirmed a total of 25 cases of the Coronavirus in Pasadena.

According to Pasadena Public Information Officer Lisa Derderian, six people have been hospitalized in total. However, some of those patients have since returned home. It is not known how many local residents are currently hospitalized.

The city does not share medical information.

“According to the city’s Health Department, we have confirmed

25 cases of COVID-19 among Pasadena residents,” Derderian said. “We continue to investigate community spread. The numbers are likely to increase due to continued testing. The city is asking residents to continue practicing social distancing.”

The new cases are still under investigation. Officials will now begin to see who the infected residents have been in contact with and perform the necessary tests to see if those contacts have led to any community spread.

The city has called on local residents to practice social distancing and stay home as much as possible in an effort to control the spread of the virus.

However, that task has proved daunting at times. This past weekend, the City Manager closed the Rose Bowl Loop after people congregated in the area and refused to follow social distancing rules for the second consecutive weekend.

The City Council is scheduled to meet at 2 p.m. today and an update could be provided at that time.
