Members of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) who oppose the proposed contract with producers have scheduled a rally for noon today in front of a Pasadena public relations firm.
The Saylor Company was hired by SAG to promote the Guild’s efforts to convince its members to ratify the current contract offering.
According to Variety, SAG’s “move to hire a PR firm has become part of the battle between SAG leaders and the members opposing ratification of the feature-primetime contract.”
The demonstration today will be held by SAG members who oppose the contract, many saying the concessions are too great and that middle-income actors would be devastated.
“How good can the contract be if they need a high priced ‘crisis’ management PR firm to sell it?” one actor said.
