Pasadena Unified School District will host two public town hall meetings in early November to discuss its Fiscal Stabilization Plan, a response to a projected $30 million to $35 million budget deficit for the 2026–27 school year.
Superintendent Elizabeth Blanco and district leadership will lead the sessions, which are open to the public both virtually and in person. The first meeting — promoted bilingually as “PUSD Budget Town Hall / miércoles, 5 de noviembre de 2025” — will be held Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. online at pusd.us/townhall. The second is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 10, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Pasadena High School gymnasium, 2925 E. Sierra Madre Blvd.
According to a district statement, the Budget Town Halls are part of a “transparent, community-informed process” to address the anticipated shortfall while maintaining a focus on student learning. The Board of Education is expected to take action on the Fiscal Stabilization Plan later in November.
Spanish interpretation and free childcare for school-age children will be available at the Nov. 10 in-person session. Community members may submit questions in advance using the district’s online form at https://forms.gle/4cft4JzQ4z5qqd6J9. The district has emphasized the importance of community engagement in shaping the plan before board action.
