
A ridge of high pressure will drive temperatures in Pasadena into the upper 80s on Friday before a weekend cooldown, forecasters said.
The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard reported Thursday that the warming trend will peak Friday, with highs 15 to 20 degrees above normal. A cooling pattern will follow into early next week as the ridge weakens.
Today’s forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 82 degrees. Winds will be light, shifting from north to south-southwest during the morning. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 53.
Friday will be mostly sunny with highs near 88. Calm winds are expected. Friday night will be partly cloudy with lows around 59.
Saturday will remain warm, with highs near 87 under sunny skies. Winds will turn southwest at about 5 mph in the afternoon.
By Sunday, highs will fall to the upper 70s as stronger onshore breezes develop. Low clouds are expected to increase along the coast.
Forecasters said temperatures will continue to cool Monday, with highs in the low 70s. Tuesday and Wednesday will bring slight warming, with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
Pasadena residents are advised to limit strenuous outdoor activity during Friday’s peak heat and stay hydrated.
