“Justin Jones is someone who understands Pasadena at its core,” said Mayor Victor Gordo. “We both come from humble beginnings, and that shapes how we show up for this community. We know what it means to work hard, to listen, and to fight for opportunities that didn’t always exist for us. Justin has the ability to connect with residents in every part of Pasadena, from our neighborhoods to our business corridors, because he listens and leads with purpose. I trust his leadership, and I know he shares a deep commitment to making sure every resident feels seen, heard, and supported.”
Jones said he was honored to have Gordo’s support.
“We share a deep love for Pasadena and a commitment to serving every neighborhood in this city. I’m proud of the work we’ve done, and I’m focused on continuing to deliver for residents by keeping our neighborhoods safe, strengthening city services, and investing in the infrastructure our community depends on.”
During his tenure on the City Council, Jones has led efforts to expand the City’s Park Safety Specialist program, increase access to clean energy through Pasadena Water and Power, and activate neighborhood parks with more programming for residents and families. He has also prioritized expanding funding for quality-of-life improvements and regularly hosts monthly weekend community meetings across the district to stay directly connected to residents.
Jones also led coordination efforts in response to the SNAP crisis during the federal government shutdown, working with local agencies and community partners to support families impacted across Pasadena.
Jones represents Pasadena’s District 3 and serves as Chair of the City Council’s Municipal Services Committee, where he oversees Pasadena Water and Power and critical city infrastructure. In that role, he has helped advance policies focused on improving city services and delivering on everyday issues raised by residents, including neighborhood speeding, street lighting, traffic signals, sidewalks, and access to solar rebate programs and other infrastructure improvements.
A fifth-generation Pasadena resident whose family has lived in the city for more than 130 years, Jones also works as a civil engineer with Los Angeles County Public Works, specializing in water supply, infrastructure, and environmental projects.
