Pasadena Stakes Out Its Own Corner of LA Tech Week

LA Tech Week returns to Los Angeles from Oct. 12 to 18, an a16z-backed sprawl of hundreds of independently hosted events — dinners, panels, demos and mixers scattered across the county.

Pasadena, in Los Angeles County, has claimed a corner of it. The local host is Innovate Pasadena, which describes itself as a partner of LA Tech Week hosting a series of events meant to highlight the area’s innovation ecosystem. The group is a volunteer-powered nonprofit founded in 2013, and its Pasadena programming runs Oct. 13 to 16 — four days inside the regional week — spanning health care and artificial intelligence, startups, climate and water-energy, and space technology.

Several of the events sit within a few blocks of one another on and around South Lake Avenue, the district where Wedbush moved its headquarters from downtown Los Angeles. Innovate Pasadena calls the regional week “a citywide celebration of startups, technology, and innovation” in its own description of the program. That framing is the organizers’ own; no independent measure of attendance, spending or local impact has been published for the 2026 Pasadena events.

Here is what to know before going: Each event requires registration through Innovate Pasadena’s calendar at luma.com/innovatepasadena; most LA Tech Week events are free, though the calendar does not post individual admission prices.

The week opens Tuesday, Oct. 13, with “The Healthcare Executive AI Agenda: What Leaders Are Doing Now” at 12:00 p.m., hosted by Huntington Medical Research Institutes, followed by the Innovate Pasadena Startup Pitch Competition at 5:00 p.m. at the Pasarroyo complex, 251 South Lake Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91101. On Wednesday, Oct. 14,”The Water-Energy Nexus: Pasadena Edition” begins at 6:00 p.m. at FoundrSpace Coworking, 87 North Raymond Avenue, . On Thursday, Oct. 15, the Pasadena Tech Happy Hour, co-hosted with AI LA, starts at 6:00 p.m. at Hawg Heaven BBQ & Gastro Pub, 119 East Colorado Boulevard. The week closes Friday, Oct. 16, with the Pasadena SpaceTech Showcase at 12:00 p.m. at 251 South Lake Avenue and the Pasadena Rooftop VIP Closing Party at 4:00 p.m., co-hosted with Wedbush, at a Pasadena location the organizer has not disclosed. Paid parking is available in the Pasarroyo garage for the South Lake Avenue events, while the Old Pasadena venues rely on nearby street and public-lot parking.
