
ACT Pasadena and the Arroyo Democratic Club, two of the oldest and most effective progressive grassroots political action groups in the Foothills, have endorsed Dr. Phlunté Riddle for Assembly District 41, Dr. Riddle’s campaign announced.
“Dr. Phlunte Riddle’s experience and service to this community is unmatched,” Jon Fuhrman, Executive Director of ACT Pasadena and Arroyo Democratic Club, said in the statement. “She is the only candidate endorsed by Assemblymember Chris Holden and we trust her to continue his work fighting for opportunities for the Foothill and High Desert communities. She will roll up her sleeves on day one to tackle our homelessness crisis, fight to keep our neighborhoods safe, and protect reproductive rights and civil liberties.”
Dr. Riddle said she was honored to be endorsed by ACT and the Arroyo Democratic Club, who have advanced progressive causes in the Foothills area.
“I have spent my life serving this community, and I can think of no better partners in the fight to protect our reproductive freedoms and civil rights,” Riddle said in response.
In addition to the ACT and Arroyo Democratic Club, Dr. Riddle has received endorsements from a wide range of organizations including Planned Parenthood Advocates of Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley, CAL Fire, Bricklayers & Tile Layers Local 4, Teamsters Joint Council 42, CA State University Employees (CSUEU), CA Young Democrats, CA High School Democrats, Southern CA Armenian Democratics (SCAD), CA Women’s List, California Democratic Legislative Women’s Caucus, California Legislative Black Caucus, California Association of Psychiatric Technicians, California Progressive Legislative Caucus, National Women’s Political Caucus CA, and the National Women’s Political Caucus Greater Pasadena Area.

Dr. Riddle spent nearly 30 years serving Pasadena and honing her leadership skills at the Pasadena Police Department, moving through the ranks as a patrol officer, detective, and community liaison. She was the first African American female sergeant, lieutenant, and then sworn Adjutant to the Chief of Police in the history of the Pasadena Police Department.
In 2019, Governor Gavin Newsom appointed her as a Board of Juvenile Discharge Hearings Commissioner with California’s Division of Juvenile Justice. She owns a consulting company, where she trains executives helping them to solve generational communications challenges within organizations.
