All incumbent Pasadena Councilmembers have now qualified for the June election.
District 3 Council member Justin Jones qualified for the election on Wednesday.
Jones joins District 7 Council member Jason Lyon and Vice Mayor Jess Rivas, who also filed the required candidacy documents with City Clerk Mark Jomsky.
As of Thursday morning, no challengers have filed their paperwork, which must be approved by City Clerk Mark Jomsky.
Paperwork must be filed by March 6 at 5 p.m.
Candidates seeking local office in Pasadena must collect signatures from registered voters within their district before filing nomination paperwork with the City Clerk’s Office. Prospective candidates must also be registered voters residing within the district when nomination documents are issued. Those who want to include a candidate statement in the sample ballot booklet must submit a $750 deposit.
Additional candidates are also exploring the race. Councilmember Justin Jones has pulled nomination papers to seek reelection in District 3, while Alexandra Annala and Erica Margarita Munoz have also pulled papers to challenge him.
In District 7, Alethea O’Toole has pulled papers to challenge Lyon. Meanwhile, Christine Rodriguez has received the required paperwork to challenge Rivas.
This will be the City’s first municipal election since the Eaton Fire. The City Clerk’s Office has added information for displaced voters to the city’s elections webpage and issued updated guidance for candidates.
Voter registration services are available at City Hall, local libraries, post offices and through the state’s online registration portal.
