Dine Brands Global, the Pasadena-based parent company of Applebee’s, IHOP, and Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, has appointed two franchise restaurant industry veterans to its board of directors, the company announced Monday.
Enrique “Rick” Silva, former chief executive of burger chains Culver’s and Checkers & Rally’s, and Amanda Clark, former international operations chief at Papa John’s, will join the board as independent directors effective February 4, 2026, according to a company press release. The appointments expand the board from nine to eleven members.
Silva brings more than three decades of franchise restaurant experience. He previously served as CEO and president of Culver’s Franchising and spent 13 years as CEO of Checkers & Rally’s Restaurants. He currently serves as chairman of Zips Car Wash, which operates more than 200 locations across 23 states.
Clark spent a decade at Procter & Gamble before moving into the restaurant industry. She served as chief operating officer for international operations at Papa John’s and as executive vice president of retail experience at Taco Bell. She is currently CEO of WellBiz Brands, a beauty and wellness franchise platform with more than 750 locations, and has served on the board of Coursera since 2020.
“We are pleased that two industry leaders, Rick Silva and Amanda Clark, have agreed to join an exceptional group of directors on the Board,” Douglas M. Pasquale, chairman of the board, said in the release. “The Board’s ongoing refreshment is driven by regular evaluations of director skills and experience to ensure effective support for the business.”
Dine Brands relocated its headquarters to Old Pasadena in 2023, occupying space at the 10 West campus on Walnut Street. The company operates close to 3,500 restaurants across 20 international markets, according to its most recent quarterly report as of September 2025.
The company entered the fast-casual segment in 2022 with its acquisition of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, adding to its portfolio of Applebee’s and IHOP, which it has operated since acquiring Applebee’s in 2007.
Pasquale has served as board chairman since June 2025 and as a board member since 2013.
