Arlington Garden in Pasadena has announced the 20 inspirational members of the community who will be honored at the garden’s annual event, Autumn in the Garden.  The honorees have supported the garden over the years and their efforts represent the past, present and future of the garden. The garden party and fundraiser, Autumn in the Garden, will take place on Sunday, October 25 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

According to Arlington Garden Executive Director AJ Jewell, the garden is concluding a year-long celebration of its 20th anniversary by showcasing and honoring those who have contributed to the garden over the past two decades, and those whose efforts will carry the garden into the future.

Guests at this year’s event will enjoy family-friendly garden activities, live music and light bites, wine and other beverages, and a garden-themed auction.

Inspired by Jan Smithen’s book Sun-Drenched Gardens: The Mediterranean Style, founders Betty and Charles McKenney and designer Mayita Dinos sought to create a water-wise garden celebrating Southern California’s distinctive climate. Working closely with Councilmember Steve Madison and former City Manager Cynthia Kurtz, they created a regenerative habitat garden offering learning, inspiration and enjoyment to visitors free of charge.

Since its founding, the garden has become an important part of life in Pasadena, with longtime local partners including Pasadena Audubon and Pasadena Humane Society.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Arlington Garden is supported largely through individual donations. It is located at 275 Arlington Drive.
