A 34-year-old Pasadena man sustained minor injuries during an armed robbery Sunday afternoon in the area of Wheeler Alley and Mountain Street, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Monica Cuellar.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:04 p.m. on July 6, when the victim was walking westbound along Mountain Street. Cuellar said that two suspects — described as Hispanic men between 18 and 21 years old, both dressed in dark clothing, with one being heavy set — confronted the victim.
One suspect allegedly pressed what the victim believed to be a handgun against his back while the other searched his pockets.
Cuellar said that cash was taken from the victim’s right front pocket before the suspects fled westbound in an older model black vehicle. No further description of the vehicle was available.
The victim sustained abrasions to his right hand during the incident. However, according to Cuellar, it remains unclear how those injuries were sustained and no medical treatment was sought. No witnesses or surveillance footage were immediately available, and the exact type of weapon used could not be confirmed, as the victim did not visually observe it, Cuellar said.
